The Pitt Business Mentoring Match program is an opportunity for alumni working in business to mentor talented students from the College of Business Administration. All alumni are welcome to participate, as every business major and experience level is valuable to our students. Your participation is an excellent way to give back and support the school. The interactions introduce you to young professionals who bring energy and fresh perspective to the field. The program is a wonderful way to stay connected to the school and to help the future business leaders of tomorrow.

Mentoring Match is an important part of our mission of taking students From the Classroom, To the City, To the World. Our students benefit immensely from the guidance that our alumni can share on business topics related to professional development, the employment search, industry trends, and much more. The diversity of experiences is a strength of our alumni network, which is why we encourage alumni of every experience level, functional area, and industry to become alumni mentors. Hundreds of alumni have signed up for the program since its inception.

The Mentoring Match platform uses a proprietary algorithm to recommend ideal alumni matches for students. Students also have the ability to search for alumni matches by filtering for job title, industry, functional area, location, and more. To ensure that the interactions are meaningful, students can only connect with one alumni at a time, which ensures one-on-one mentoring interactions. Another perk of the program is that our alumni volunteers can also connect with each other for alumni-to-alumni networking. This is a useful tool for expanding your own professional network while you are supporting current students at the school.
